LEGAL REGULATIONS
In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, there are strict legal regulations that prescribe the course of a medical genetic test.
Thus, it requires a detailed explanation of the nature, the scope and validity of the analysis even before it has begun (DE-GenDG §9). After the sample collection and genetic preliminary consultation, a declaration of consent by the patient must be signed and a suitably trained doctor must subsequently apply for the medical gene analysis (GenDG §10 Abs 2). Once the result has been created, a detailed discussion of the result must take place.
